[4677] "The News Chronicle [Scott City, Kansas], 25 April 1907," p. 1: "Mrs. Mary K. Fish, wife of H. T. Fish, died at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Stubbs, in this city last Friday night, April 19. Mrs. Fish had been suffering with asthma for nearly three months, and was taken by her husband to southern Texas a few weeks ago in the hope that a change of climate would prove beneficial, but it did not and they returned here about two weeks before her death. A short funeral service conducted by Rev. Neece was held at the Stubbs home Saturday evening after which the remains were shipped to LaCrosse, her old home, for burial. The husband and two little girls, aged 6 and 8 years, are left to mourn the loss of a loving wife and mother. The body was accompanied to LaCrosse by her husband and children; her parents; her sister, Mrs. A. H. Carey, of Dighton; her uncle, D. C. Stubbs, and her cousin Miss Irma Briarly."
