"de Cundet, Robert - In 1130 Robert de Condé accounted in Kent and in Sussex for an agreement with the bishop of Lincoln, and in Lincolnshire for the land of his father. His parentage is unknown, though it is usually suggested that he was a descendant of Emma Crispin (aunt of Robert I Malet) and Peter de Condé. He married Alice or Adelicia, probably the daughter of Ranulf I of Chester and in 1136 widow of Gilbert fitz Richard de Clare [or fitz Gilbert] (major, Linq. Reg. Antiq. i, pp. 282ff0. At his death on a 10 October sometime between 1139 and 1145 his minor son Roger was his heir. Probably father also of a son Robert (q.v.). His fee was a composite granted some time after 1086, consisting of land in Wickhambreux, Kent, South Carlton, Grimston, Thurlby and Eagle and Skellingthorpe, Lincolnshire. Born Jan. 13, 1943, in Englewood, N.J., the son of A. Edward Hall and Margaret Soper Hall. The love of his family meant everything to him. He was a cherished husband, father and grandfather. He was a loyal and devoted friend. His sense of humor was legendary. His calm demeanor and incredible insight drew people to him. He will forever live through us. His legacy of love will live in all of those he touched. Marshall was valedictorian and class president of the Old Town High School, Class of 1961. He was a Sigma Chi fraternity brother at the University of Maine, Orono, where he graduated with a mechanical engineering degree in 1965. He began his career at Fairchild Semiconductor before spending many years at Data General and the Chapman Company recently, he was the director of operations at Artel. Besides his mother of Old Town, he leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Janice (Julian) Hall; two adoring daughters; one devoted son; six treasured grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Jeannine Peters and several nieces and nephews."

She was born February 18, 1921, in Chapman, the daughter of Ray and Hazel (Foss) Higgins. Rachel grew up in Mapleton and graduated from Mapleton High School. She then attended and graduated from Aroostook State Normal School with a bachelor's degree in Education. She married Frederick Burden in 1948, and together they would share forty-nine years of marriage until his passing in 1997. Rachel taught school for twenty-six years at York Beach, Machias, Mapleton, Calais, and Presque Isle. She enjoyed playing Scrabble with family members. She also was an author of several books of family history. Rachel loved being around people and enjoyed entertaining friends and family. She was a longtime member at St. John's Episcopal Church in Presque Isle, as well as Mapleton Baptist Church. Rachel was also a member of Delta Kappa Gamma for sixty-one years, the Mayflower Society, and the Haystack Historical Society. She will be remembered as being selfless, optimistic, and devoted to her family. She is survived by three children, Cheryl Martin of Caribou, Kathryn Crowell and her husband, Dave, of Presque Isle and Pennsylvania, Stephen Burden and his wife, Kathy, of New Sweden; grandchildren; Andrew Martin and his wife, Elizabeth, Christopher Martin and his wife, Sara, Joshua Burden and his wife, Jessica, Matthew Burden and his wife, Rachel, Jessica Ciszewski and her husband, Andrew, as well as fifteen great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind a sister, Barbara Higgins; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, Rachel was predeceased by a son-in-law, James Martin; four brothers, Wallace Higgins, Merle Higgins, Claude Higgins, Irwin Higgins; and two sisters, Priscilla Jones and Mariam Keirstead. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Leisure Village and of Senior Domestics for all of their care and compassion. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, March 18, at Mapleton Baptist Church, with her grandson, the Rev. Joshua Burden officiating."
