He later proceeded Master of Arts. In 1833 Davis was ordained a priest and became his father's curate at Worcester, and in 1840 he was appointed Vicar of Roundhay near Leeds in Yorkshire."
[8917] Mary is daughter of Henry H. Fackler (1848-1936) and Elizabeth Sophia Laser (1851-1906). See "Briner Family History," Myers and Clouse (Harrisburg, PA: 1984), p. 250. Mary's ancestor, Wendall Fackler, emigrated from Germany and fought in the War for Independence, according to descendant Franz Vail. Ancestry.com offers: "Fackler Name Meaning - occupational name for a torchmaker or for someone whose job was to light or carry a torch, from Middle High German vackel 'torch' + agent suffix -er. Eastern German: from a short form of the Slavic personal name Wenceslaw or other Slavic names beginning with Vech- or Vach. Americanized spelling of Fachler, an occupational name for a surveyor of fish pens (see Fecher)."

[2630] In 2008 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iago_ap_Beli offers: "Iago ap Beli (c. 560-613; reigned from c. 599) (Latin: Iacobus; English: James) was King of Gwynedd. The most notable feature of his reign (of which little information exists) is the growing strength of the nearby kingdoms of Mercia, under the rule of Pybba and his son Penda, and of Bernicia, under Æthelfrith. Some evidence exists to suggest that Iago may have entered into some sort of alliance with Pybba, trading the latter's promise not to attack Gwynedd in exchange for Gwynedd's support against Northumbria, should that support be needed. In 604, after being driven from his throne by Æthelfrith, Edwin, king of Deira, may have sought refuge at the Iago's court. Perhaps as a result, Æthelfrith turned his wrath against Gwynedd, killing the monks at a monastery at Bangor, and finally facing the forces of Gwynedd and Powys at the Battle of Chester in 613. It is not known whether or not Iago took part in this battle: he may have done so, perishing amidst the slaughter, or he may have already abdicated his throne in favor of his son, Cadfan, and died later that year in a monastery."

The son of James Rogers & Elizabeth Rowland, Samuel married Mary Stanton on November 19, 1662. The marriage ws blessed with nine children.
In 1680, Samuel became the first english settler of Mohegan CT. He had, for many years, been a close friend of Uncas, Chief of the Mohegans. Uncas and his son, Owaneco, gave him lands on Saw Mill Brook, in consideration of friendship and services rendered. At his death, he owned many large tracts of land. (Mohegan is presently known as Montville, CT )
History of Montville, Connecticut, By Henry Augustus Baker, Published, 1896, Page 178:
II. SAMUEL (2), b. 12 Dec., 1640, eldest son of James Rogers. and Elizabeth Rowland; married 17 Oct., 1664~ Mary, daughter of Thomas Stanton and Ann Lord, daughter of Thomas, Lord of Hartford. The parents of these two parties entered into a formal contract, each pledging Ð200 as a marriage portion to the couple.
James Rogers, the father of Samuel,in fulfillment of his part of the contract, conveyed to his son his stone house and bakery at the head of Winthrop's Cove, where the couple commenced housekeeping. They lived there only a few years and removed to the outlands of the town in the vicinity of the Mohegan tribe of Indians, and became the first English settlers within the present limits of the town of Montville.
He was twice married, so appears by his last will, executed Dec. 8, 1712, in which he gives "his beloved wife Johanna all she needs." He died 1 Dec., 1713, and was buried in the Old Rogers Burying Ground on the farm where he then lived, and which was afterwards owned by Oliver Baker.
