[7670] "News-Journal [Mansfield, Ohio], 11 May 1934," p. 13: "Calvin Shover, 79, brother of Harry Shover, Mansfield, died at his home four miles northeast of Shelby early today. He and his wife, Sarah, had celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary last Feb. 8. Shover was born in Pennsylvania, and came to Ohio at the age of 18. He had spent the past 61 years in the vicinity of Shelby. In addition to his widow and his brother in Mansfield, a daughter. Mrs. B. L. Nelson, at home, survives. Funeral services will be held at the late home Sunday at 2:30 p. m., with Rev. Bruce Young, Shelby, officiating. Burial will be in London cemetery. He had been a member of the London Lutheran church."

[34225] Find A Grave Memorial 79564227 offers: NOAH YOUNG - Oldest of Charles Young's children, was born in Pickaway County, Ohio, Dec. 24, 1818, and in his seventh year moved with his parents to Green Creek township, Sandusky County, Ohio. He helped clear up the farm, a part of which he lived on until his death. He was a kindhearted conscientious man, highly respected and successful in business. A teacher and school officer, farmer and carpenter. He refused to be elected to any public office. In 1857 he joined the U. B. church and was made a local preacher that year, exerting a good influence for righteousness and truth. He married Orlintha Brown, Sept. 11, 1842, a daughter of Jerry and Olive Brown, a good housekeeper, true and faithful to her family. Their eleven children were born on the old home farm in Green Creek Township, Sandusky County, Ohio. . . . Orlintha Young, was affected a long time with stomach trouble and died April 15, 1870, aged 45 years 10 months 18 days, interred in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. Noah married his second wife, Louisa Braund a Canadian lady April, 7, 1872. They had one child which did not live long. She lived in the old home for a while after Noah's death, then sold it and lives with her niece Mrs. Hattie (Bax) Huss. Noah settled his own estate before death by giving deeds or money to each of his heirs, and an equal share to his second wife. His early playmates were the little Indian boys and their favorite sport was the bow and arrow, running and jumping, etc. The Indian village was two miles south east of our home and the Indians were very friendly. Noah could stand and jump eleven feet, and run and jump over a rope high as his head.
