[1539] http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~lawrpaul reports that Robert I is son of William IV of Auvergne (not verified) and that William IV is son of Guy I of Auvergne, the son of Robertus II of Auvergne and Ingelberge de Beaumont (Dame Beaumont in the Chalonais). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auvergne_(province) reports: "Auvergne was a province of France deriving its name from the Arverni, a Gallic tribe who once occupied the area, well known for its fierce resistance, led by Vercingetorix, to conquest by the Roman Empire. Christianized by Saint Austremoine, Auvergne was quite prosperous during the Roman ages. After a short time under the Visigoths, it was conquered by the Franks, in 507. The medieval times were for Auvergne a period of great development, especially between the Xth and XIIIth centuries, with the building of famous abbeys and churches in a Romanesque style. In the year 1095, the historic Council of Clermont was held there, to rally support for the First Crusade."

[41635] See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margaret_Beauchamp,_Countess_of_Shrewsbury. Find A Grave Memorial 86916892 offers: "Daughter of Richard de Beauchamp and Elizabeth de Berkeley. Wife of General John Talbot, the first Earl of Shrewsbury, married September 6, 1425. Immediately after her marriage, she and two brother in laws, Duke of Somerset and the Baron Latimer, "vigorously maintained the claim to the Berkeley lands." She was the mother of five: John Talbot, 1st Viscount Lisle; Sir Louis Talbot; Sir Humphrey Talbot; Lady Eleanor Talbot m Sir Thomas Butler and mistress to King Edward IV; Lady Elizabeth Talbot m John de Mowbray, 4th Duke of Norfolk. She was named Countess of Clermont because of the bravery of her husband during the wars with France. Lord Berkeley trashed Margaret's manor at Wotton-under-Edge in Gloucestershire, so her son, John, stormed Berkeley Castle in 1452 and took Lord Berkeley prisoner. Margaret then arranged for Lord Berkeley's wife, Isabel Mowbray, imprisoned, where she died the same year. Lord Berkeley then married Margaret's stepdaughter, Joan Talbot, to make peace in 1457, which lasted only until William Berkeley took over for his father in 1463. Upon her deathbed in 1468, she left everything to her grandson, Thomas Talbot, 2nd Viscount Lisle, son of John. She was buried in St Faith under St Paul's at London."

[20641] Theobold is son of Michael Garst, b. ca. 1678 in Schwenckhausen. (Schneckenhausen is a municipality in the district of Kaiserslautern, in Rhineland-Palatinate of western Germany.) See http://www.garstfamily.com for family genealogy. The Garst Genealogy and Family Research Center posted 28 Sept 1999 on http://www.jenforum.com: "Theobald Gerst a life long member of the Reformed Church migrated to Lancaster Co. in 1750. His son Nicholas had come to Lancaster Co. in 1749. Nicolaus arrived in Philadelphia along with other German immigrants, who settled in Penn Woods, near Jonestown, Bethel Twp.,Lancaster Co., on Little Swatara creek. We have extensive informationon Niclolas's descendants who were mostly Dunkard Brethren. Theobald brought the remainder of his family with him including a son Dewald whose information is shown below. Theobald died about 1770 and his funeral was preached by John Conrad Bucher who was a Reformed Minister. Theobald was buried in Bethel Twp."
