Jean Mayo-Lakatos (jmayolak@tampabay.rr.com) shared in 2003: "Concerning Rev. John Mayo marrying Thomasine Lumpkin, widow of William Lumpkin, between 1671 and 1676, I have been unable to prove or disprove that theory: 1. No marriage record could be found in Boston or anywhere on Cape Cod for Rev. John Mayo and Thomasine Lumpkin for the time period of 1671 - 1676, after the death of William Lumpkin. 2. No death or burial records could be found for: Thomasine Lumpkin, William Lumpkin, Rev. John Mayo, or Tamisen Mayo anywhere on Cape Cod. We know from will and estate records that William Lumpkin died in Yarmouth, MA. in ca. 1671, and that Rev. John Mayo died in Yarmouth, MA. in May of 1676. William Lumpkin left widow, Thomasine Lumpkin. Rev. John Mayo left widow, Tamisen Mayo. 3. There is a record in Yarmouth, MA. of a Mis Mayho who died in Yarmouth, MA. on Feb. 26, 1682, who we assume to be the widow of Rev. John Mayo; however, her first name was not given. 4. I have a marriage record in Leiden, Holland that I believe to be the marriage record for Rev. John Mayo and his wife, Tamisen (Tamsen), on March 21, 1618. I am doing follow-up research in Holland on this marriage record, to try to establish further proof that this marriage record pertains to Rev. John Mayo...or even rule it out. If I can prove that, then it would appear that Tamisen would have been his one and only wife probably...and it would be doubtful then that he had married Thomasine Lumpkin, the widow of William Lumpkin."

A file in Ancestry.com in 2015 offers:
"The fact that John Mayo's widow was the same person as William Lumpkin's widow is established by the following: 1. In the settlement of John Mayo's estate [Md.9:119], is states: "Mistris Tamasin Mayo the Relict of Mr. John Mayo above mensioned made oath to the truth of this Inventory soe farr as shee knowes; excepting onely the Goods and estate which shee had before theire Intermarriage, which shee had not Claimed Right nor power to Dispose of but onely to use while they lived together as, as shee affeirmeth and to bring in what further shee may know the 2cond of June 1676". 2. Court Orders, V., 7 June 1787: [MD 9:121]: Adminstrators appointed to "the estate of Mr. John Mayo Deceased...withReference unto his wifes prte and amonst his Children" 3. A church record in the hand-writing of Rev. Increase Mather says: "In the beginning of the year 1670, Mr. Mayo, the pastor, grew very infirm. On the 15th of April he removed his person, and his goods also from Boston to reside with his daughter in Barnstable, ..." In ["The Reverend John Mayo, Genealogy" by E. Jean Mayo, p.2] 4. The rarity of the name Tamison. 5. No known records of a Tamison Lumpkin after William Lumpkin's death aside from those known under the name of Tamison Mayo. 6. The close connection between the Lumpkins and Mayos as evidenced by the marriage of their children Samuel and Thomasine. Number 1 and 2 above show that they had not been married long at the time of Rev. John Mayo's death. Record 3 shows that John Mayo was wifeless in 1670, so that his widow was not his original wife.
----------------------------------------- "Her Possible Roots:
"A 1990 submission to I.G.I. by "Director 088-002A, Nancy Ruth Waldo Clement, 9 Collier St., St. Catherines, Ontario Canada L2P2RD" stated the following information: Thomasine Constable born 1605 in West Rasen, Lincoln, England, died 1682; daughter of Marmaduke Constable and Ann ---. It shows her husband William Lumpkin born 19 Jan 1584 at St. Peter, Lincolnshire, England, died 1671, son of Richard Lumpkin (no mother named). The Constable/Lumpkin marriage is given as 1625 at Barnstable, Barnstable Co., Mass. A note on the back shows "Thomasine Constable md (2) Rev. John Mayo." The source was given as "James Savage - I.G.I, or possibly 1.6.1, but is not to be found in Savage's genealogical dictionary of New England. Courtesy of ed.chapman@idealink.washington.dc.us.

[48399] "Bangor Daily News, 15 February 2021": "Trenton - Barrett Snow passed away at age 72 of complications related to COVID-19, at the Maine Coast Memorial Hospital in Ellsworth on February 8, 2021. He and his twin brother, Brian, were born to J. Frederick and Mildred Snow on April 10, 1948, at the Blue Hill Hospital. Barrett was a graduate of George Stevens Academy, after which, under the apprenticeship of his father, he embarked on a lifetime career as an electrician. Barrett worked for the Rosemyer Gas Company, Kerramerican Mines Corp, and with his brother, Michael Snow, Master Electrician. For Industrial Welding and Machine of Portland, he worked up and down the New England coast from Searsport, ME to Rhode Island, maintaining and repairing ship engines for the US Navy, USCG, and foreign ships as well. At one time, Barrett was working on a ship that left port unexpectedly, leaving him stranded onboard, without a passport, for a full two weeks. It was only after Sen. Edmund Muskie intervened that Barrett was able to be safely brought, after sailing all the way to the Gulf of Mexico and back through rogue waves, to shore in New York where he was welcomed by his father, along with several Immigration officers. Barrett next worked for Acadia Resorts as a maintenance technician where he was well-liked and respected personally and professionally for his array of skills. He also worked for his son, Barrett, Jr., who owned a boat building business in Providence, RI doing the electrical work. Barrett (lovingly called Sugarbear) became a faithful member of Alcoholics Anonymous, where he found love and acceptance beyond his imagination. He helped his fellow AA members by driving hundreds of miles transporting them to and from meetings and sharing his stories. He would spend hours repairing furnaces and appliances for members out of the goodness of his heart. Barrett is predeceased by his parents, J. Frederick and Mildred Snow; twin brother, Brian Snow; brother, Timothy Snow; and niece, Heidi Lynn Beal. He is survived, and will be greatly missed, by his son, Barrett Snow Jr. of Allston, MA; grandson, Harrison Snow of New York City; his aunt Judy Goodwin (Tom) of Seal Cove; sisters, Nanette Beal of Blue Hill (with whom he shared a home in Trenton for many years), Lucy Astbury (Brian) of Orland, Katherine 'Kitty' Peasley (Greg) of Brooksville; brothers, Michael Snow (Jan) of Blue Hill and Jeffrey Snow of Blue Hill. He is also survived by nieces, Terry Snow, Lucy Leighton, Casey McGraw (Joseph), Samantha Pickering (Christopher), and Kari Meillat (Guillaume); and nephews, Shane Leighton, Donald Wasserman-Beal (Nick), and Jonathan Snow; as well as his many cousins; and special friend, Maryann Ogonowski."
