"The pedigrees usually commence with this Adam, whom they give as first known ancestor, who came from "Audithlegh in Normandy," into England at the conquest. From his they deduce an unbroken descent to the present time. The first four descents embrace a period of two centuries, but allowing this Adam de Audithlegh to have lived in the reign of Hen.
