[21497] http://burgessgenealogy.net in 2002 reports: "Jacob helped to repair the meeting-house in 1644, and was early a member of the church. He served the town for many years in the subordinate offices of surveyor, constable and grand juror. He took the oath of allegiance in 1657. He inherited, in behalf of his son Thomas, the paternal estate in Sandwich while the other brothers removed. This Thomas was a child of four years, when the grandfather made his will, and entailed to him the old homestead, both in honour of his name and to perpetuate the estate in the family. Having no male heir surviving, he constituted Zaccheus, the eldest son of his brother Jacob, as his true and lawful heir, giving him a deed of the homestead, dated February 18, 1754. In Hiam's book BURGESS GENEALOGY, cousin Katharine writes 'Both Rev. Burgess and American Nyes state that Jacob2 had a dau., Mary. I find no record of her. Burgess thought she m. Christopher Gifford of Conway. A 'Mercy' Burgess of Sandwich m. Christopher Gifford of Conway, but not until Oct. 1792 (Conway VR, 150). She was a descendant of John2 Burgess, a dau. of Nathaniel5 and Mercy (Crowell) Burgess of Sandwich. It is possible that the death date given above by Rev. Burgess for Benjamin(3) is that of his son, Benjamin4, who d. Feb. 10 1752/3 (Chilmark VR), since it seems unlikely father and son would die the same year. Sandwich VR gave 1660 as the year in which Jacob2 Burgess and Mary Nye were m. Surely 1670 is correct since their 1st child was b. March 1671. The Nye family has memorialized Benjamin Nye and his wife, Katherine Tupper, with a bronze plaque set in a rock that stands across from the Sandwich Glass Museum and opposite the Sandwich Town Hall. The inscription reads, 'We best serve the interests of posterity by treasuring the memory of our ancestors.' Rev. Burgess gives Mary Nye's death date as June 2% but American Nyes says June 22. I felt it was appropriate to agree with the Nyes.'" The Internet site gives further descendants through Jacob and Mary's son, Ebenezer (b. 2 Oct 1673, d. 22 May 1750).

His brother Martin was high bidder when his homestead was auctioned off.

[43112] "Freeport Journal-Standard, 15 April 1949," p. 7: "Orangeville, ILL., April 15. - Robert B. Ritzman, 60, died at a Freeport hospital last night. He was born June 7, 1888, at Orangeville, the son of John and Emma Ritzman. He was married June 10, 1925, to Marjorie Hobbs of Warren. In January, 1949, he resigned as state oil inspector due to ill health. For many years he was secretary of the Orangeville board of education. Ritzman was a member of the Orangeville Methodist church and president of the Men's Bible class. He belonged to the Masonic lodge, the American Legion, and was a veteran of World War I. He was a graduate of the University of Illinois school of pharmacy. Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Nancy, at home; and one sister, Mrs. Arthur Wheeland of Freeport. He was preceded in death by a brother and his parents." Note: The 5 April 1940 federal censusin Orangeville lists daughter Nancy as adopted and her father Robert B. Ritzman as "attendant, filling station".

[13719] Find A Grave memorial 83927410 offers Norma's obituary: "Norma J. Yount Burns, 73 of Fairview died on Sunday Februrary 10, 2008 at Hamot Medical Center. She was born April 30, 1934 in Mayport, Pa.. a daughter of the late Elwood and Grace Geist Yount. Norma graduated from the Punxsutawney High School and later worked for Cameron Mfg., a division of Sylvania, in Reynoldsville. She moved to Wesleyville in 1962. She lived in the Brookville area for a period of time before moving to Fairview in 1978 where she has resided since. She had most recently been employed at the Girard Dinor where she worked for over 20 years. She was a member of the Reynoldsville Chapter #220 Order of the Eastern Star, the VFW Post Auxiliary in Millcreek, a life member of the Erie Twins Club and enjoyed flower gardening. Norma's priority had been her family and was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Clair and Glenn Yount. She will be sadly missed by her family which includes her husband, Robert E. Burns, whom she married September 3, 1955 at the Langville, Pa.. Methodist Church; three daughters, Michele L. Steele and her husband Edward of Fairview, Robin S. Quint and her husband Marc of Dexter, Mich., Karen A. Burns of Painesville, Ohio; two sons, Michael L. Burns of Brookville, Robert E. Burns Jr. and his wife Emily of Jacksonville, Fla..; three sisters, Nina Smathers and her husband Roscoe of Mahaffey, Bertha Dinger and her husband Byron of Punxsutawney, Louise Vasbinder of Punxsutawney; three brothers, Daryl Yount and his wife Dorothy of Punxsutawney, Harold Yount and his wife Jean of Strongsville, Ohio, William Yount and his wife Ruby of Punxsutawney; five grandchildren, Gregory Steele, Erin Burns, Melissa Steele, Kristen Burns and Olivia Burns, also many nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Daniel R. Edder Funeral Home, 309 Main St. East, Girard. Services will be held there on Thursday at 10 a.m. Rev. Dennis Miller, Pastor of the Fairview United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Reynoldsville Cemetery."
