[44919] "The Marion Star [Marion, Ohio], 2 November 1955," p. 16: "Mrs. Margaret M. Newton, 81 of 424 Brightwood Dr. died at 7:30 a.m. today in General Hospital. She suffered injuries in a fall at home Friday. A resident of Marion six years, she came here from Blanchester. She was the widow of Rev. Abbott Gates Newton, Methodist minister, who died Oct. 10, 1947. Born June 17, 1867, at Felicity, O., she was the daughter of William and Mary Gibson Miller. Her marriage was Aug. 25, 1892. In Marion she was a member of Epworth Methodist Church and an honorary life member of the Women's Society of Christian Service. Surviving are her son. Miller J Newton of Richland Pk. and Mrs Mary K. Birch of the Brightwood Dr. address. She was last of her family. Brief memorial services will be conducted Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the Boyd Funeral Home on W Columbia St. Rev. Walter C. Eyster of Epworth Church and Rev. V. E. Busier, former pastor, will officiate. The body will be sent to the Hanna Funeral Home at Blan chester where funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m with Rev. S. W. Wiant and Rev. H. J. Holcombe officiating. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery there."
