Jessie Francis Brockmeier (b. 30 Aug 1886 in Villisca, IA, d. 9 May 1969, daughter of William Frederick Brockmeier and Ella Francis Skinner). [14545] In the 1830s a group of families from Stockbridge, VT moved west and settled in Illinois. The group included some Whitcomb cousins. Elias was first in the Palatine, IL area, then moved to Elgin, IL. He was a farmer and lumber dealer, and had 66 land patents in WI where he spent much time lumbering. He was commissioned by the Governor of WI to raise a company of cavalry in the War Between the States. Maplewood Cemetery Records in Stockbridge, VT state that he is buried beneath the Whitcomb monument there.
