[53131] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 20 April 1955, p. 24: "Stonington, April 19 - Funeral services for Peter Samuel Haskell, 52, who died Sunday, were held Tuesday at the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Deer Isle, with Elder Garfield Billings officiating. Bearers were: Wolcott Hardie, Pvt. Clyde Haskell, and four nephews; Irving Haskell, Milton Haskell. George Haskell and Pfc. Franklin Haskelll. Burial was in the Haskell District Cemetery. Mr. Haskell died at a Castlne hospital after a long illness. He was born in Little Deer Isle, September 16, 1902, the son of Peter and Susan (Cole) Haskell, and attended Deer Isle schools. He married Mamie Eaton, June 19, 1922. Mr. Haskell was a yachtsman most of his life, and in late years, a lobster fisherman. His survivors include his widow; three daughters, Mrs. Wolcott (Annie) Hardie of Stonington, Mrs. George (Violet) Mank of Rockland, and Patricia Haskell, Stonlngton; a son, Pvt. Clyde Haskell of Fort Dix, N. J.; six brothers, Fred of Rockland. Lyman of Waldoboro, and Elmer, Charles, Vernon and Bennie of Deer Isle; two sisters, Mrs. Laura Eaton of Deer Isle and Hazel Haskell of Rockland; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews."

I have an ancestor, Catharina Schneider born 19 Feb. 1752(according to bible records of 2nd husband). She married #1 Johan Adam Dietrich, children John, Jacob, Magdalena, and Anna Maria. During this marriage lived probably Longswamp, Pike and Maxatawny (Kutztown)Twp., PA. After 1793 moved to West Buffalo Twp., Northumberland, now Union Co., PA. After death of Dietrich, she married #2 John Stees Sr. 8 Feb. 1824. Died 31 Mar 1835 aged 83 yrs 2mos 11 days.

Prothonator's Office, Orphan's Court Book 2, May 1819-1831, page 187, Petition by heirs
for evaluation of real estate . This document states that the widow had married John
Stees and names children of Adam Dietrich . This document is dated 20 Feb. 1824 (right
after the marriage to Stees on 8 Feb. 1824)

7. Translated copy from family Bible of John Stees. was owned by 1907 by Stapelton, Wrightsville Pa . published 1763 Germantown 2nd edition by Sowers. The entries give the maiden name of Catharina Schneider, date of birth, date of 2nd marriage, date of her death and age at death along with data on John Stees, his first marriage and children of that marriage and their birthdates.
I believe this follows Catharine through both marriages and links her to the family of George Daniel Schneider. To date, I have not found a baptismal record for her or church records for either marriage. There are other documents (tax, court and census records) that place them in mentioned parts of Berks and then Northumberland (now Union) Co., Pa.
