[18710] George Adam Brecht used "Bright" as his surname. His wife was Maria Catharina Kaufeldt (b. 17 June 1733, d.1798, m. ca. 1754 in Berks Co., PA, daughter of J. Nicolaus Kaufeldt and Anna Grundt according to an unverified Web file). He purchased 170 acres in Beverly Manor, Cugusta Co., VA in May 1767 and was granted land near South Mountain in southern Augusta Co. in 1781 and 1787. He and Catharina attended St. John's Reformed Church in Middlebrook George made his will 14 April 1804 - it was proved 25 June 1805. He is buried in Dutch Hollow Cemetery west of Greenville.
