[48003] "[Shamokin News-Dispatch [Shamokin, PA]. 20 September 1951": "Forrest Tschopp, 35, Trevorton native, was instantly killed in an automobile accident in California, according to word received last night by his sister, Mrs. Harry Lupold, Eleventh and Coal Streets, Trevorton. A telegram received by Mrs. Lupold gave no details of the accident, other than to reveal her brother was killed on a California highway. Tschopp moved to Inglewood, Calif., four years ago, and was employed in that city as a steeplejack painter. He was widely known in Trevorton, and before moving to California was engaged in coal trucking. Born in Trevorton, September 18, 1916, Forrest Tschopp was a son of the late Elias and Nora {Senora} (Hetrick) Tschopp. He attended Trevorton schools and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Trevorton. His wife is a former resident of Phoenixville. Tschopp's father, Elias Tschopp, died a year ago, and his mother five years ago. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Grace Tschopp, Inglewood, Calif., and sister, Mrs. Lupold, Trevorton. Funeral services will be held Saturday from an Inglewood, Calif., funeral home, according to the message received by Mrs. Lupold." "The Los Angeles Times, 19 September 1951": "Forrest L. Tschopp, 35, of 3316 W. 133 St., Hawthorne, died on arrival at Santa Monica Hospital last night after the car he was driving collided head on with an automobile driven by James A. Waring, 31, of 1510 Venice Blvd. Both Waring and his wife, Dorothy, 31, were injured seriously. They were treated at Santa Monica Hospital."
