William Herbert, like his father came into wealth by taking an active role in supporting the Kings of their time. William Herbert supported King Edward IV during the War of the Roses and was to become Earl of Pembroke in recognition of his achievements. He was knighted in 1452, fought with Edward at Mortimer's Cross and after the victory was made chief justice of south Wales as well as Baron Herbert of Raglan. In 1462 he became a knight of the garter, and in 1467 chief justice of north Wales. It was at Raglan and into the care of William Herbert and his wife that the welfare of Henry (VII) the future King of England was placed. William and his brother Richard were captured at the battle of Edgecote and executed." [William ap Thomas of Raglan Castle was son of Thomas ap Gwilym ap Jenkin (d. 1438) and Maud Morley, daughter of Sir John Morley.]

Burial will be at a later date at Pioneer Cemetery. . . .Kathleen was born June 14, 1928, in Ashland County to Ralph and Lorna (Pearce) Paullin Sr. and married Kenneth Anderson on Sept. 5, 1948. He survives.She was homemaker and had worked for the former Cresco Co. and was an Avon representative. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking.She was a member of Mohicanville Community Church and the Ladies Guild.Surviving in addition to her husband are children, Linda (Jeff) Sprang of Shiloh and Keith (Valerie) Anderson of Perrysburg; five grandchildren; brothers, Lemoine (Freda) Paullin of Jeromesville and John (Doris) Paullin of Lakeville; sisters, Elizabeth (Duane) Martin and Mary (John) Canankamp, both of Wooster; and two sisters-in-law.Her parents and brothers, Ralph Paullin Jr., Larry and Donald Paullin, died previously."
