[7805] "The Perry County Times [New Bloomfield, PA], 19 March 1953," p.5: "Mrs. Sara Alice Lightner, aged 86, widow of the late Frank P. Lightner, passed away Thursday afternoon, Mar. 5, at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Julia Waverich, near Allentown. She was a daughter of the late J. C. Rickard and wife, of Loysville, where she was born and grew up. She was united in marriage with Frank P. Lightner and to this union were born two daughters, Mrs. Emma Boggs, of Womelsdorf, Pa., and Mrs. Cyrus (Helen) Stakes, of Wormleysburg, who survive; also several grandchildren. Many years ago the Lightners were engaged in a general store business, in Landisburg. A number of years later they sold out to D. W. Wertz and moved to Loysville where they built a home and Mr. Lightner was employed by the Newport and Shermans Valley R. R. as ticket and express agent until the abandonment of the railroad. While in Loysville the family were members of the Lebanon Reformed Church, where they were active. Some years ago Mr. and Mrs. Lightner moved to Harrisburg where they united with the Reformed Church at Fourth and Maclay streets.
