"The Ellsworth American [Ellsworth, Maine], 18 May 2014": "Brooklin - Philip Hollis Eaton 'Squire Eaton,' 75, of Brooklin passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at his home at the foot of Hales Hill with his wife, Nance, by his side. He was born April 20, 1939, in Blue Hill, the son of the late Virgil and Viola Wilson Eaton. Philip graduated from Brooklin High School, Class of 1957. He earned an associate degree in criminal justice from the University of New Hampshire; attended classes at University of Pennsylvania and Old Dominion University; and earned a bachelor of arts in history with a minor in philosophy from the University of Maine in 1999. A Vietnam War veteran, Philip retired from the U.S. Navy in March 1978 after serving 20 years. He served aboard the USS Boston from 1969-1970; USS Newport News; USS John F. Kennedy; and the USS Mitscher 1976-1977. He returned to Brooklin in 1978, where he operated the Brooklin Firewood Co. and served as constable and clam warden. He chaired the Brooklin School Board for several years and was an active member of the Brooklin Alumni Association. Philip was a lifelong member of the North Sedgwick Baptist Church, where he served as deacon, trustee and Sunday school superintendent. Philip and his wife, Nance, operated a small farm for several years, raising cows, pigs, sheep, chickens and goats. He and farmer friends in town affectionately referred to themselves as the Oakum Bay Pig Farmers.
In recent years, Philip presided over morning coffee and the daily crossword with lifelong friends, the late Roger Hutchinson Sr., Richard Hodgdon and others. He was an avid coin collector and eBay trader, a Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan, and, although he didnt play golf himself, he enjoyed watching Tiger Woods on TV. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Nance Hardy Eaton; son, Stefan and wife, Cynthia Beers, of Weymouth, Mass.; son, Andrew of Brooklin and wife, Deborah; daughter, Patricia Bowman and partner, Roger Harding, of Juneau, Alaska; son, Daniel of Portland,; brother, George and wife, Marsha, of Brooklin; brother, Richard and wife, Robbie, of Brooklin; sister, Carol Vrabel and husband, George, of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.; sister-in-law, Priscilla Olson and husband, James, of The Villages, Fla.; grandchildren, Amanda Eaton of Midlothian, Va.; Nichole Eaton and fiancé, Travis Harkness, of Virginia Beach, Va.; Joseph Bowman of Biddeford, and Christopher Eaton of Virginia Beach, Va. He was preceded in death by daughter, Jennifer; sister, Betty and brother-in-law, Kenneth Carter."

Dick was born in Levant, Maine on May 12, 1932, the son of Donald Mason and Florence Hanscom Mason, brother of Elwood, Grace, and Virgil. Richard graduated from Hermon High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving in Korea. He then graduated from Maine Vocational-Technical Institute as a machinist and worked for Portland Copper and later for Rich Tool and Die. Dick married Edith Cousins of South Portland in 1955. They began their married life in South Portland, and later moved to Gorham, where they raised their six children."
