[55815] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 21 February 2024: "Delbert 'Del' D. Davis, 84, of Venice, Florida, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 8, 2024. Born on March 30, 1939 in a schoolhouse in Etna, Maine to Lilly (Hudson) Davis and Daniel Denman Davis. He was fostered from young age by Millard and Audrey Smith of Newburgh, Maine. When Del was 17 years old, he joined the Army and served his country in the Korean War. After he was honorably discharged, he moved to Connecticut where he met his beautiful wife of 56 years, Anita (Galipeau), while roller skating. Del was a loving and devoted father to his and Anita's children, to many foster children, and to his grandchildren. Del was a self-described 'ol farm boy, and those roots were evident in Connecticut when he hand-dug a pond for his pet Canadian Geese, Honkie & Peeper, and also raised rabbits. Anita and him moved back up to Maine in 1986 and he happily had small farm with horses, goats, ducks, chickens, and fish in the pond. He would talk about that time in Maine being the best time of his life; a time when he 'had everything.' Del was always very industrious and owned his own side business working on small engines while he was a supervisor and mechanic at Currier Trucking. He continued to work until he was over 80 years old tending others lawns. Del leaves behind his three children, Jim Davis and his wife Denise of Bucksport, Maine, Wayne Davis of Beverly Hills, California, and adopted daughter Nancy Hamm and husband Michael of Venice, Florida, as well as his sister Effie, nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and many special nieces, nephews, and friends. Del was a father figure to many, and will be remembered for his wit and his willingness to help anywhere he could. He will be deeply missed by anyone who was fortunate enough to have him in their life."

[47144] Find A Grave memorial 27617120 offers Philip's obituary: "Philip Kilmer passed from earth to joys immortal at 11 o'clock on Sunday, August 7, 1892, at his residence in Turbett township, aged 70 years, 6 months and 8 days. He was a son of the late Philip Kilmer, and was born on the farm now owned said occupied by John A. Kohler in Turbett Township, and resided all his life in the township in which he was born. In the year 1846 he was married to Miss Mary Ann Koons, and the result of this happy union was two children, namely, George Koons Kilmer, who, at the age of six years, was fatally injured by an ash hopper falling on him, having only lived twenty-four hours after the accident befell him, and Margaretta Jane, wife of Mr. T. Harvey McClure, of Turbett township. His beloved wife preceded him to the tomb, departing this life Dec. 15, 1890. The deceased leaves besides a loving daughter, a son-in-law, four grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Miss Elizabeth Koons, who were unceasing in their devotion to him in his protracted and fatal illness, three sisters, namely, Mrs. James Shoaff, of Port Royal, Mrs. R. B. Winfield, of Russell, Kansas, arid Mrs. Rebecca Lyons of Greenwich, Ohio, to mourn the departure of a devoted father and brother. He was a consistent member of the Presbyterian church, witnessing a good profession, and died trusting in the blood of the atonement and the great salvation, purchased by the Savior of mankind, and his last words were: "Wonderful love!" Mr. Kilmer was the embodiment of all that was noble and true, and his word was as good as his bond, and his character for veracity and uprightness was never called in question. He leaves his friends an imperishable record, for honesty and integrity. A large concourse of people assembled at. His late residence on Tuesday morning, August 9, 1892, to honor the memory of him who was universally esteemed by his fellow citizens, and his remains were laid to rest by the side of his dear companion in Church Hill cemetery; to come forth in the judgment day to life eternal. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. B. M. Campbell, pastor of the deceased, assisted by Revs. J. K. Lloyd and A. H. Spangles."
