Formerly of 3090 Brinser Road, Middletown, he had lived in the Leader Center since 1988. He was the husband of Catherine Martin Epler. They would have observed their 65th anniversary on Nov. 10. He farmed in Londonderry Township before retiring in 1969. Epler also served as township supervisor for 18 years. He was a member of Christ United Church of Christ, Elizabethtown, and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. An avid small-game hunter and fisherman, he enjoyed the outdoors, baseball and conversation. Born in Londonderry Township, Dauphin County, he was the son of the late David M. and Emma Nissley Epler. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, J. Frank of Middletown and David of Elizabethtown; two daughters, June Hippensteel and Anna Epler, both of Elizabethtown; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild."
