[16318] David m. Catharine Hottenstein (1771-1852), daughter of William Hottenstein of Cumru Twp., Berks Co., PA. He purchased the tannery from his father in 1779 when his brother Michael left for TN. He was elected county commissioner in 1820 and appointed county treasurer in 1823. He received his father's homestead lot in Reading and in 1817 it was converted into the Farmer's Hotel. Children: Sarah H., Michael, Abigail, William, Catharine H., Peter, John, David, Aaron and Francis.

She died on October 24, 1893, in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, having lived a long life of 86 years."

He was employed at Mansfield Plating for 26 years, retiring in 1976. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 763. Surviving are his wife, Evelyn E. Worthington, whom he married Jan. 5, 1935; two sons, Dave Worthington of Mansfield and Bill Worthington of Shelby; three grandchildren, Steve Worthington of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Stephanie Fox of Atlanta, Ga., and Paul Worthington of Shelby, two brothers, Harley Worthington of Holiday Lakes and his twin, Rolla Worthington of Shelby; three sisters, Dorothy Roth, Mary Viers and Zootie Ross, all of Shelby; and nieces and nephews."
