Ancestry.com offers: "Harris Name Meaning - English and Welsh (very common in southern England and South Wales): patronymic from the medieval English personal name Harry, pet form of Henry. [57084] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 5 April 2022: "Jonesport - Mona Sue Taylor, 69, peacefully passed from this world and into the arms of Jesus, on April 2, 2022, at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center with her family at her side. After a courageous battle through multiple health complications and unimaginable loss, Mona made the decision to allow life's natural process to reunite her with her two sons. Mona was born in Bangor, Maine, on November 27, 1952, to Philip and Beatrice (Gray) Huntley. She graduated from Jonesport-Beals High School, and her yearbook is full of messages from classmates who said without her help, they would not have graduated. She loved helping people and making others laugh. Her sense of humor was unmatched, and her laugh was contagious. After marrying Al, and having their two sons, Mona and her family moved to Greenville, Maine, where she lived for almost 25 years. She cooked for several restaurants during her career and was known for her leg of lamb. Mona's culinary legacy did not end there. Her family and closest friends always enjoyed her pineapple cake, Italian meatballs, and potato salad. Family gatherings were always special to Mona, whether they involved coffee chats, card games, competing over Wheel of Fortune or Jeopardy!, or an outing to Dollar Tree. She also enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, collecting lighthouses, and listening to gospel music, especially songs by her pastor, Steve Bertrand. She faithfully attended the Jonesport Pentecostal Church. For 15 years, Mona was actively involved in Let's All Have a Merrier Christmas, which helped children in Washington County receive warm clothing and gifts each year. Mona was predeceased by her two sons, Corey Philip Taylor and Robert 'Robbie' Johann Taylor, and their father, Albert Taylor; her parents; a baby brother, Edward Philip Huntley; and baby great-nephew, Philip Lorenzo Cilley. She will be missed dearly by her sister and brother-in-law, Rhonda and Tony French; granddaughter, Hannah Taylor and her mother, Megan Wright; grandson, Drius Taylor and his mother, Bobbi Sue Gray; her daughter-in-love, Mae Polchies; her nieces, Holly Sue Swilo and husband, Geoffrey Lagat, and Denise Cilley and husband, Jason. Her great-nephew, Levite Cilley, and great-niece, Ava Lagat, brought her so much love and joy. Mona will also be remembered by many special aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Her special and dear friends, Nancy Aletich, Hattie Alley, Gordon Newell, and Arden Alley helped her so much and she loved them like family. Special caregivers, Connie Holland, Diana Tinker, Elaine Alley, Danette Berry, the nurses of Fresenius Kidney Care Sunrise County Dialysis and DECH Infusion Clinic, and especially her favorite nurse, Holly, supported her throughout her healthcare journey. At Mona's request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. In keeping with her wishes, she will be laid to rest with her two sons."

[51422] "The Ellsworth American [Ellsworth, Maine], 13 September 2022": "Southwest Harbor - Linwood S. 'Woody' Leighton passed away peacefully at home on Sept. 10, 2022. Woody was born in Bass Harbor on Aug. 6, 1940, to Newell 'Everett' and Juanita Leighton. Woody lived a quiet but active life with his beloved wife of 64 years, M. Irene Leighton, who predeceased him a short four months ago. He worked most of his career as a mechanic, although he retired from JN Mills Co., where he was the office manager. Woody was a very outgoing person, and it was often said that 'he never met a stranger.' In their younger years, Woody and Irene loved to travel and take motorcycle rides. Woody is survived by his sons, Michael and his wife, Phyllis, and David and his wife, Patty; grandchildren, Valerie, Heather, Travis, Katie and Kasey; great-grandchildren, Paige, Autumn and Aspen; brother-in-law, Jerry Hill, and his wife, Margaret; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving wife, parents and brother Randy."
