[6995] See http://mapage.noos.fr/anosteo/Courtenay.html and http://fmg.ac/Projects/MedLands/LATIN%20EMPERORS.htm. Pierre's wife Yolande became the heiress to the "Latin Empire" of Constantinople after her brother, Emperor Hendrik had died in 1216. The title of Emperor was transferred to Pierre II de Courtenay, but before he was even able to reach Constantinople, he was captured by one of his three rival "Emperors" (the one of Epiros) who held on to those parts of the former Byzantine Empire that did not accept the Crusader Emperors. Pierre died soon after having been taken prisoner. His widow Yolande herself ruled as Empress. See http://genealogy.euweb.cz/capet/capet7.html

[45300] "The Selinsgrove Times-Tribune [Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania], 26 July 1923," p. 1: "George S. Rine, scion of one of Snyder county's oldest and most prominent families, was buried yesterday afternoon from his late home on North Market street. Services were conducted by Rev. Dr. John B. Focht, and interment was made in Union cemetery. Mr. Rine succumbed to a lingering illness at noon Sunday. The deceased man passed the greater part of his life at McKee's Half Falls, where the family had large real estate and merchandising interests. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John M. Rine, having been born in Chapman township sixty-seven years ago. Upon the death of the head of the head of the family the older brother, the late John S. Rine, continued to operate the general store facing the road on one side and the canal on the other. The younger brother built a beautiful home on his adjoining farm to the south, and also engaged In merchandising at good location, catering to canal and community trade. The Rine name has always stood for the highest standards in business and consequently has long been synonymous with success. It has been the same with their farm management, and thus the family merited the position they attained. Mr. Rine relinquished his merchandising activities six years ago, whereupon he removed to Seiinsgrove to pass the remainder of his days with less exacting application to business. Influenza and the World War brought two bereavements to the Rine household in the death of a daughter Gertrude, wife of Isaac D. App, and the family's only son, Musser, who died too of Influenza within a few days of his sister, while he was in an army training camp. The father's health broke under the shock. Mr. Rine's condition became critical two years ago, and there was no remedy for the broken heart. Miss Harriet Musser, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Musser, of McAlisterville, and Mr. Rine were married. Surviving are Mrs. Rine and their daughters, Miss Minnie A., at home, and Sarah, wife of Ralph D. Witmer, of Allenwood; and granddaughters Mary and Catherine App. Surviving brother and sisters are Philip S., of Fremont, Neb.; Mrs. Lydia Coleman, Gratz; Mrs. Catherine Wentzel, Landisburg, and Mrs. Sue Matts, Indiana."
