[44230] "Bristol Banner [Bristol, Indiana], 10 February 1911," p. 5: "Philip Boyer was born in Snyder Co., Penn., June 16, 1844, and died Feb. 3, 1911, aged 66 years. 7 months, 18 days. He was a sufferer from rheumatism for 22 years. He was married to Amelia Ott Nov. 8, 1866 and to this union were born nine children of which two died in infancy and the widow, seven children, eight grandchildren, one great grand-child and one brother survive him. Of the children, Mrs. Abbie Gibson, of Rapid City, S. D., Mrs. Perry Replogle, of Bristol, Mrs. Maggie Roberts, of Adamsville, Mich., Miss Ida Boyer of Elkhart, George and Chas. Boyer, of Bristol, and Edward Boyer, of Osolo township. All were present excepting Mrs. Abbie Gibson who could not be present on account of sickness. Deceased moved to Elkhart in the spring of 1S75 and the following fall moved to Washington township where he has since resided."
[29064] Anthony is son of Thomas Colby (b. ca. 20 Dec 1567). "Genealogical and Personal Memoirs Relating to the Families of Boston and Eastern Massachusetts, Vol. 4," William Richard Cutter, ed. (New York: Lewis Historical Pub. Co., 1908), p. 574: "Anthony Colby, the immigrant COLBY ancestor, was born in England, of an ancient English family. He probably came with Governor Winthrop. As early as 1630 he was in Boston, was proprietor in 1633 in Cambridge, and in 1635 owned two houses there. He was admitted a freeman May 14, 1634. He sold out his property in Cambridge and removed to Salisbury, Massachusetts, where he received land in the first division in 1640 and again in 1643. He was one of the first commoners of the town of Amesbury, in 1654 and 1658, and his widow received grants in 1662 and 1664 upon his rights. He sold his house and two acres of land in Salisbury in 1647 to William Sargent, seaman, and removed west of the Powow river, between Salisbury and Ames- bury. He had a grant of land for his son John in 1660, and a town lot west of the pond. He married Susanna Haddon (?) or Sargent, daughter of William Sargent. He died, February 11, 1660. The inventory of his estate was dated 1662-63. His widow Susanna married second, William Whitridge, in 1663; was again a widow in 1669, and died July 8, 1689. Her estate was administered by her son Samuel (Essex Files 38, 89)."
