[33674] "The Loup Valley Queen [Callaway, Nebraska], 16 September 1927," p. 5: "Mrs Cecil Fay Towle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Preston, was born September 4th 1898 near Oconto. Nebraska. She was united in marriage to Herbert S Towle, July 5, 1917, at Council Bluffs, Iowa. They made their home in Iowa until this spring when they moved to Callaway. This home was blessed with three children, Devona, LeRoy and Baby Elden. After a very short and unexpected serious illness Mrs. Towle finished her earthly work on September 10, 1927. She is survived by her husband and three children; father and mother; three sisters and one brother Also Grandma Brown many other relatives and friends. She was a kind and loving wife and mother whose interest and devotion was centered in her home and family. She will not only be missed by her loved ones but her many friends and acquaintances. 'I cannot think of her as dead, Who'll walk with me no more; Along the path of life I tread, She has but gone before'. Funeral services were held at the M. E. Church Monday at 2:30, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Arthur Swanson. Burial was at Rose Hill cemetery."
