"Duncannon Record [Duncannon, PA], 23 April 1942," p. 8: "Charles William Hiltner, 112 Ann street, Duncannon, retired employe of the Pennsylvania Railroad, died Wednesday at 4 p. m. at his home after a two day illness. He was 59 years of age. Seven years ago he was retired on account of disability but not until Monday did his illness become serious. He was a member of the Railroad Brotherhood and Vantleburg Lodge, No. 288, Knights of Pythias. He has a son of Martin VanBuren and Neuwell Bothwell Hiltner and spent his entire life in Duncannon and vicinity. Surviving are his wife: Mrs. Bertha Gibney Hiltner; three sons, Grafton L., Harrisburg; John M., Enola; Merle C, Duncannon; one daughter, Mrs. Harry C. Deckard, at home, and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Saturday at the Nickel funeral home, Duncannon. Rev. A. A. Price, of the Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be made in Union Cemetery."
