"The Pennsylvania German Society Proceedings," Vol. 20 (1909), pp. 200, 201, 418 provide information concerning Valentine: "By February 5, 1744, he was living in that part of Philadelphia county, Pennsylvania, now, and since 1784, included in Montgomery county, in the area of Falkner Swamp. The New Hanover Lutheran church there recorded the Baptismal dates and other dates of several of his children." Also see "Pennsylvania German Pioneers," R. B. Strassburger and William John Hinke, Vol. 1, pp. 234, 235, 236; Vol. 2, p. 241, which offers ""Valentin Alt [sic] came to America on the Ship Davy, William Patton, Commander, from Amsterdam, last from Cowes.
