A George Washington Higgins served in the 3rd Battalion, Mississippi Infantry & 8th Battalion, Mississippi Volunteers during the War Between the States.

[5639] Ladislaus (Laszlo) was elected king by the nobles in 1077. He m. Adelaide, dau. of Duke Welf of Bavaria. He encouraged Christian missionaries and built many churches, but allowed religious freedom to Jews and Moslems. At the Synod of Szabolcs (1092) he instituted a series of laws on religious and civil matters. Chosen to lead the armies of the First Crusade, he died before assuming command.
