The 1976 City Directory of Lansing, MI shows him as Assistant Pastor of Pennway Church of God; his parents are also listed - Ford is Supervisor in the Department of Soil Conservation. Archie's obituary from the "Lansing State Journal, 3 February 2020": "Archie E. Bryde, Sr., age 85, went home to be with the Lord on February 3, 2020. He was born February 28, 1934, in Lansing, MI to Ford and Edna Bryde. Archie worked for R.C. Cola for 33 years and then started working for Waverly and Grand Ledge Schools. Archie was a lifetime member of Pennway Church of God. He loved camping with family and he had a beautiful singing voice. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Patricia; children, Archie (Jay) Bryde, Jr., Chuck (Vici) Bryde, and Kim (Tim) King; grandchildren, Stacy (Cory) Nelson, Andrea (Lee) Becker, Becky (Dante) Rodriguez, Nicole (Ben) Hayhurst, and Brittany Bryde (Andrew Roman); great-grandchildren, Kailey, Griffin, Emily, Miguel, Carson, Ellie, Abby, and Brooklyn. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Beulah, Ruth, and Barbara; and brothers, Leon, Bruce, and Francis."

[9841] John received the bequest 1 May 1843 through an attorney, which may indicate his absence from Snyder Co., PA.
[390] John is first known from a record 24 July 1650 when (as John Sparke) he was apprenticed to Obadiah Wood, a "bisquit maker" (baker) in Ipswich, Mass. (per "Records and Files of the Quarterly Courts of Essex Co., MA," 1911, I:200). Obadiah Wood is referred to as John's brother-in-law [Obadiah married Margaret Sparke, John's older sister; Obadiah was baptised 2 Oct 1625 at Nuneaton, Warwickshire]. John's younger brother, Samuel, was apprenticed to William English on the same date (William was a shoemaker, r. Ipswich as early as 1637, and moved to Boston later). The next record for John is 1664, when he is a "tenant of Thomas Bishop" (a merchant in Ipswich); John rented half a house built for two families, and set up a bake shop and an "ordinary." At Thomas' death John had to move, and 15 Feb 1671 bought a two-acre lot where he set up his bake oven and operated an "ordinary" until 1692. John died by 12 March 1705.
