[13857] Paul's obituary: "LECK KILL - Paul R. Geist, 74, died July 29 at the Evangelical Community Hospital of Lewisburg. Born April 5, 1931 in Leck Kill, he was the son of the late Russell and Mary Reitz Geist. He was a 1948 graduate of Pine Park High School of Leck Kill. He was a U.S. Army Corp of Engineers veteran of the Korean Conflict. He owned and operated Geist's General Store, Tavern at Leck Kill and the Leck Kill Post Office. He was a lifelong member of Christ United Church of Christ of Leck Kill, where he served on the consistory, choir and properties committee. He was a former member of the St. John's Reformed Cemetery Association, where he served as secretary/treasurer. He also was a lifelong member of the Herndon Fire Company, the Gratz V.F.W. Post No. 2385, Diamond Jubilee of Lykens Twp., the Alvin E. Long American Legion Post No. 504 of Mandata, where he was a past post commander and past district commander, Erdman's Sportsman Association, the Pine Park Alumni Association Reunion Committee and served as secretary/- treasurer for Barnett Spring Hunting Club. He was the widower of Shirley Lontz Geist. Surviving are a son, Steven Geist of Milton; a daughter, Paula Geist of Millersburg; and a sister, Mary Hoy of Millersburg. Services were held August 2 at the Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home. Burial was in St. John's Reformed Cemetery."
