[38302] See Ancestral File MM46-T8D - not verified - which offers: "Mile's father bought property in York located at the mouth of the Cape Neddick River on 17 Jan 1753. I think that the boys Miles & and his brother Hez Jr (both shipwrights) built the house there. I can prove Miles was living in York on 22 Jan 1756. In 1761 Miles purchased 2/3rds of this house and 1/3rd of the houselot from his father. The Sheriff seized the father's share in 1767 and Miles sold his share 10 April 1769 and is in Stockton Springs before a March 1770 muster roll for Fort Pownal which included an expense for a new flag staff made by Miles Staples (cost: 9s 4d)."
