His obituary: "Borger News Herald - October 21, 1949 - George C. Henshaw, 72, of Skellytown passed away Friday Oct. 14, after a short illness at the home of his daughter, Mrs. A. D. Hills of 705 N. Frost St., Pampa. Mr. Henshaw was born at Prospect, Butler County, Penn., August 25, 1877. He was united in marriage at Youngstown, Ohio to Miss Susan Alma Johnston, October 7, 1896. To this union eight children were born. Survivors are his wife and children, Mrs. A. D. Hills, Mrs. William Hunter of Dial, Mrs. O. S. Cook of Amarillo, Charles C. Henshaw and Mrs. R. E. Bradford of Skellytown. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. George Cline of Electra, eighteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death three years ago by his son, Rev. D. Henshaw, and on September 16, by his grandson, Melvin 'Eddie' Thompson, both of Borger. Also, a son who died in infancy. He was a life long member of the Presbyterian church of Tionest, Pa., and an associate member of the Community church of Skellytown where services were held Monday Oct. 17 by Rev. Rex Hill of the Community church, Skellytown; assisted by the Rev. M. O. Evans of the Baptist church, Skellytown."

Mr. Henshaw, who was 72, had been in poor health for about two weeks and had been staying in Pampa since last Tuesday. He was born Aug. 25, 1877, in Prospect, Pa., and moved to Skellytown from Depew, Okla., in 1928. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, and an associate member of the Skellytown Community Church. In addition to his wife, Susan, he is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Hills, Mrs. M. E. Thompson of Borger, Mrs. William Hunter of Dial, Texas, Mrs. 0. S. Cook of Amarillo, and Mrs. R. E. Bradford of Skellytown; by one son, Charles C. Henshaw of Skellytown; and by one sister, Mrs. George Cllne of Electra; 18 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren."
