She loved each and everyone of her extended family without reservations through the good times and the bad. She was a devoted wife and mother and her family was the most important thing in her life. She also loved her plants flowers and especially her golden retrievers. She was educated at Penobscot and Blue Hill schools and worked as a private caregiver for several elderly persons as well as being a certified nurses aide at the local nursing home. She was born Dec. 12, 1944 in Castine, the daughter of Hollis L. Farnham and Dorothy M. Conner. She was predeceased by her father in 1975. She is survived by her mother her beloved husband, Philip V. Harman of Penobscot; and cherished sons, Michael Philip Harman, Esq. of Millinocket, and Joseph Philip Harman of Castine; two sisters, Beverly A. Henry and her husband Edwin of Oradell, N.J., and their children, Edwin R. Henry V and Nicole of Tucson, Ariz., Barbara A. Willis and her husband Carleton of Castine and their children, Peter Willis and his wife Kathy of Hooksett, N.H. and Dana Willis and his wife Cindy of Penobscot; a brother, Dennis I. Farnham and his wife Ruthie of Penobscot and their children, Dennis I. Farnham, Jr of Castine, Debbie and Linda Farnham of Penobscot, and Teresa Higgins and her husband Kevin of Lewiston; a very special stepnephew, Steve Farnham and his wife Sally and their children, Matthew and Michael of Bucksport; a stepniece, Rosemary Begley and her son Jamie of Castine; three brothers-in-law, Henry Harman and his wife Helen and their children Holly and Harlan of Denton, Texas; Richard Harmon and his wife Abby and their children Chris and Amy of Falmouth, Mass. and Waldo P. Pippin, incorrectly called "of Herstal," assumed leadership of the great nobles of Austrasia around 678 in order to combat Ebroin (Mayor of the Palace) and Neustria. He led the nobles to victory at Tertry (687 - the fall of the Merovingians). He also defeated the Frisians and the Alamanni, becoming unchallenged ruler of the whole Frankish domain. He is regarded as the first of the Carolingian mayors of the palace. He and Plecrude also had Sylvius, bishop of Auchy (b. 677 in Herstal).

He made war . . . on the Frisians and defeated their duke Radbod; and part of this people became converts to Christianity. He also defeated Willari, the duke of the Alamanni, and subdued his country. The Bavarians, too, recognized the Frankish suzerainty. The plans he had formed for reforming the church and convoking councils were interrupted by his death, which took place on the 16th of December 714."
