One World Tree on Ancestry.com proposes this parent, but is not verified! Another unverified web site states Constance is daughter of Thomas de Pontop. Pontop is a hamlet near Dipton in Co. Durham, England. In 2010 http://www.mathematical.com/feltonwilliam1257.html states that Constance is mother, not wife, of William Felton and remarks: "All records state Margaret Felton is the daughter of William Felton & Constance unknown. That William was born in 1290 though one record states 1274.
All records for William Felton state he is born in 1290 with no father listed or born 1257 with father as Robert le Strange. All records for the 1257 birth list Constance de Pontops or Constance unknown as spouse. None of the records show Constance Pontop as having children. All records show Constance unknown as being the mother of Margaret. "
