"The York Daily Record [York, PA], 30 June 1922," p. 9: "The funeral of Charles Herbst was held yesterday afternoon with short services at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Daniel Hildebrand. 506 North George street, at 1:30 oclock. The cortege then proceeded to the church of the Brethren, near Loganville, where the funeral discourse was preached and interment made in the cemetery adjoining. Rev. J. A. Long, paster of the Church of The Brethren, York, was the officiating clergyman. The pallbearers were representative of the Farmers Mutual Fire Insurance company of Dover, of which the deceased had been a director, for about 20 years."
