Mrs Leach was a member of the Penobscot United Methodist Church; Ladies Aid Society; superintendent of Sunday school for many years; and a 66-year member; past matron and district deputy of the OES No 107 of Penobscot. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years Frank J. Leach, Oct 11, 1984. Survivors include her son Fulton and his wife Jane of Penobscot; two grandchildren, Linda Littlefield of Castine and Donald Leach of Penobscot; two great-grandchildren, Donald, Jr. and William Leach; several nieces and nephews."

Peter is buried at St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Monroe Twp., Richland Co., Ohio. The 1880 census of Worthington, Richland Co., OH lists him as a shoemaker, age 54, with wife Sarah, age 44, and their five children.

He had been sick only a short time and failed rapidly from the first. The deceased was in his 79th. year and was one of the pioneer residents of this section. He was born in Ashland County but has resided here most of his life. He was always a faithful and earnest worker in the Methodist church. Besides his wife, five children are living: Flora Barrett Paullin, of Toledo; Mrs. G.W. Hawk, of Shiloh; Charles E. Paullin, of Menominee, Ore., and M.W. Paullin and Dr. L.W. Paullin of this city. The funeral will be held from the Methodist church, Newville, Monday morning at 10:30, the relatives and friends from this city leaving here at 7 o'clock. Interment will be at St. John's Cemetery. The Rev. G.W. Howk, of Shiloh, son-in-law of the deceased, will conduct the services. (Bellville Messenger: 14 October 1904, Vol. 12, No. 40)."

Peter is listed as a gunsmith, living with his father Isaac Paullin, his mother Ann Hepler Paullin, brother Isaac, sisters Amy and Elizabeth Paullin Coffin and her 3 year old daughter Arabell Coffin, He married Sarah W. Wetzler on April 16, 1859 in Ashland County, Ohio. The 1860 Newville, Ashland, Ohio census conducted on June 21, 1860 recorded the family's surname as Rawlin. Peter's occupation was listed as an artist, his age was 34, and his personal property was valued at $151. Civil War draft registration list from Richland County Ohio shows Peters on July 1, 1863 as a 38 year old white shoemaker born in Ohio. The 1870 census of Worthington, Richland County Ohio, records Peter's first name as Paul. Peter is enumerated as a 43 year old white boot and shoe maker born in Ohio. He valued his real estate at $600. He was living with his wife Sarah and children Susan (Flora), Emma, (Weldon) Miner, Jesse (Della) and Charles F. The 1880 Worthington, Richland, Ohio census finds Peter on June 3, 1880 to be a 54 year old shoemaker. Both of his parents were born in Pennsylvania. He was living with his 44 year old wife Sarah and children Flora, Weldon, Della, Charles and Lester. Peter E. Paullin of Newville, Ohio filed for a patent with the United States Patent Office for an improved plow design on August 12, 1881 which apparently was granted on November 7, 1882. He passed away October1904 and was buried in the Saint John Cemetery, Jefferson Township, Richland County, Ohio."
